This concrete jungle palette has a really good mix of colorful shades. I got it to try out the formula, and these are the exact colors I love mixing. Peppermint confetti is a beautiful olive green shimmer that is great for the lower lash line, all over the lid, or the outer corner to darken a look. Jungle is a fantastic midnight forest green that I enjoy using as a liner. Doughnut queen is a pretty petal pink that is great for a transition shade or a one color monotone look. Empire is a lovely rose gold that is great all over the lid with doughnut queen blended in the crease. Lemonade is a shiny metallic yellow that is great for highlighting. Pretzel is a light wash of mustard-y goodness.
This palette is definitely worth the $12 ($2 per shadow) in my opinion. It is fantastic for someone starting out with makeup or wanting some calmer colors. I enjoyed using the color grouped duos, but you could also use every shade in the palette in one look; empire on the inner lid, peppermint confetti on the outer lid, doughnut queen in the crease, jungle in the outer V, lemonade on the inner corner and brow, and pretzel and jungle to darken the lower lash line.
That being said, I don't think this palette was meant for someone who collects makeup like me. These colors are not super pigmented and pretty muted, which is why I suggest it to someone just breaking into color. Also, as a factory worker, I have 10 hour days my makeup needs to last through. This usually lasted about 5 hours as opposed to the 8 comparable price points have.
I may try a neutral palette in the future, because of the fantastic price point WITH a mirror!
