4 Simple Yet Stunning Pride Makeup Looks for 2021
Happy Pride Month, everyone!
We’re so excited to be celebrating the most colorful month of the year with you.
This month, we’re honoring the people who’ve fought — and continue to fight — for the right to be unapologetically who we are. And we want to focus on self-love, pride, and all the amazing things the LGBTQ+ community has done.
In preparation for the parties and parades that Pride Month brings, we wanted to share some simple, stunning Pride makeup ideas. Because what better way to show your pride than with colorful makeup??
All of these makeup ideas are quick-and-easy, totally wearable, and fierce as hell.
What are we waiting for? Let’s get into it.
1. Rainbow eyeshadow
Probably the most common of the Pride makeup looks.
Rainbow eyeshadow is pretty easy to do — especially this way, where the colors are spread across both eyes (instead of packing an entire rainbow onto each eyelid).
Bright rainbow eyeshadow is noticeable and insanely fun. If you love the spotlight, this look is for you.
To recreate a version of this rainbow shadow look, use our Concrete Jungle and Lady Liberty palettes ($12). Together, these two shadow palettes create a wide spectrum of colors, from shimmery red to bold blue.
Pro tip: use our Eyeshadow Primer ($8) to really lock in and brighten up these colorful shades.
Starting with Concrete Jungle, use the flat, all-over shadow brush from the Eyeshadow Brush Set ($8) to put “Empire” (red) on your right eye’s outer corner, “Doughnut Queen” (orange) on the middle of your lid, and “Pretzel” (yellow) on your inner corner.
With the smudge brush, blend these three colors together using “Cherry” from the Lady Liberty palette. Adding in this neutral warm orange shadow will create a seamless transition from one color to the next.
From Concrete Jungle, use “Peppermint Confetti” (light green) on the left inner corner, and lightly use “Jungle” (green) on the middle of the lid. Use “Liberty” (blue) — from the Lady Liberty palette — on the outer corner, and blend the colors together using “Confetti” (neutral tan).
Top it all off with a pair of super glam lashes — our TSQ Girl False Lashes ($5) are perfect — and you get a bomb look that’s sure to turn heads.
2. Bright, colored eyeliner
Yup. The colored eyeliner trend is making an appearance here, too.
If you want a super wearable, casual look for this month, opt for a simple splash of color on your eyes. This idea is especially awesome for those who aren’t huge makeup people generally.
For a quick-and-easy colored liner, pick up our Eye Crayon ($6) in pretty much any color. “Burgundy,” “Electric Blue,” “Silver,” and “Greenwich V” are the boldest of the colors, so if you’re looking for a statement-making shade, go for one of those.
The Eye Crayon glides on like a freaking dream. Creamy, buildable, and shimmery, this crayon can be used for, like, a million different things. Eyeshadow, eyeliner, even cute little drawings on your face.
Just apply right above your lash line on your eyelid. Make the line as thick or thin as you want and, if you’re feelin’ it, add a colored mascara for some extra drama.
Shimmery, colored eyeliner is the way to go this month. Simple, quick, and gorgeous, this Pride look will definitely be your go-to.
3. Vivid lipstick
Okay, this is probably the easiest look on the list.
Now that people are getting vaccinated and masks are coming off, lipstick is making a huge comeback.
Because, well, we can actually see it again.
So, if you’ve always wanted to try a bold lip color, now’s the time.
For Pride Month, there are tons of different looks you can go for on your lips. Solid colors, metallic shades, matte or glossy finishes… some people will literally paint the entire rainbow on their lips.
For a simple but colorful look, use any of these M2U lipsticks:
● Bubblegum (Moisturizing Lipstick — barbie pink)
● Orange Juice (Moisturizing Lipstick — bright orange)
● Pink Pink Pink (Matte Lipstick — watermelon pink)
● Empire (Matte Lipstick — plum purple)
● Violet (Matte Lipstick — electric indigo)
● Jungle (Matte Lipstick — leaf green)
The best part? They’re only $6 — at that price point, you can get a different color for every day of the week :)
These rainbow colors are vibrant and powerful, perfect for celebrations and making a statement.
To get the glossy, metallic look, use the Metallic Liquid Lip in the shade “Wild” (bold purple) and top it with the Lip Gloss in “Fortune” (glossy violet). The mix of the brushed metal finish with the shine of the gloss is to die for. And this look will work with any of the other shades, too — you can totally switch it up!
With a vibrant lipstick, all you need is a pair of False Eyelashes, and you have an entire look. Just like that.
See what I mean? Easy.
4. Dramatic glow
This month, you wanna be seen.
So, get your glow on with a glossy highlighter.
Brightening up the face with a shimmery highlighter is crucial. Especially in the summer sun and Pride Month. Don’t dull your sparkle, babes.
The unique Unicorn shade of our Jelly Highlighter ($11) has a magical, iridescent shine that looks incredible on all skin tones. The jelly formula has a high-shine wet look that looks unbelievable in the sun — you’ll look like you’re dripping in diamonds.
All you have to do is take a little of the jelly on your finger (a little goes a long way) and spread it along your cheekbones, nose, under your brows, or anywhere else you want a little sparkle.
The jelly is super lightweight and looks amazing on top of other makeup or on bare skin. And if you want a no-makeup-makeup look with a little extra shine, this is your new bestie.
Psst — to add some extra flair, use skin-safe glue to add colored crystals underneath your eyebrows! Mixed with the colorful highlight, you’ll literally be a walking rainbow.
As we remember and commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, we remember the bravery and sacrifice of those that rioted. They fought to be exactly who they were — a fight that’s still going on today.
Although the struggle continues, we have to celebrate the impact the LGBTQ+ community has had on the world.
Of course, Pride isn’t just one month out of the year. But the month of June is for the community to honor ourselves and each other the way we should always be honored.
Pride Month is a time to celebrate who we are and revel in the beauty and uniqueness of our identities.
If there was any time to be your most dazzling, extra self, this is it.
So go all out! We’ll be standing right next to you.
